Doddington Oaks CL Site.
DODDINGTON OAKS is aptly named for this charming location, set against a woodland backdrop. It is accessed between two handsome oaks and a leafy lane off the B1190 between Doddington and Lincoln. (LN6 4RR) Once through the trees, the vista changes to open fields, hedgerows and woods where the site is on your left.
Further afield the unique ‘Artist’s Retro Caravan’ doubles as a site and information hut. In addition to the abundant wildlife (Roe deer, Muntjac, Badger, Fox, Squirrel, Brown Hare and Hedgehog – Owls, Buzzards, Pheasants, Grey Partridges, and a host of other bird species, all recently sighted) you might glimpse a lesser-spotted painter in a floppy hat if you’re lucky – but mostly the species is reclusive and they only come out when it’s not windy and the sun shines.
The site is in a screened-off part of a much larger field. Horses and sheep may be grazing in the nearby fields. Pitches are lawned with electric hook-up and space for awnings. Each pitch is uniquely angled for your privacy - yet still able to overlook open fields, enjoying wide stunning Lincolnshire sunsets (a painter's paradise). Adults, children and dogs on leads, are welcome. Local convenience store/garage/restaurant (500 metres). The site is within close proximity to Doddington Hall Estate (l mile), Whisby Nature Park, Teal Business Park and Whisby Garden Centre.
A new Sustrans cycle track from Doddington village to various locations is now operable.
Although a rural location, this site is extremely handy for access to the A46 and other major tourist attractions in the heart of Lincoln (6 miles), with its historic Roman, Norman and Tudor past, housing the Cathedral, Castle, Steep Hill and unique Bailgate shopping area uphill.

"Thanks for the relaxing stay last week and hope to see you again this year. This little owl would not show more than this for me and favoured sitting inside the chimney but something is always better than nothing."
